UMP Collaborate with Industry for the success of MyGift

60 corporate leaders and captains of industry from all over Malaysia joined “Program Ramah Mesra Bersama Industri”. This event was held not only to strengthen relationship between university and industry but also looking for potential prospect in education and research sector that could benefit both party.

In this event, UMP Vice Chancellor share information on UMP’s growth and direction in his slide “Communitising Technology” and also university efforts in introducing MyGift initiative as university’s fund.

CEO@Faculty Program is a program introduced by UMP that give chance for the corporate leader to share their experience and knowledge in the corporate world with the students. Such program brings advantage to the university in shaping and training the undergraduates for their working environment thus increase graduates employability. Three prominent figure were appointed by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) for this program and they were Tenaga National Berhad (TNB) Chief Executive Officer , Datuk Seri Ir. Azman Mohd, Motorola Solutions Malaysia Penang Operation Managing Director, Dr. Hari Narayanan and MOHE Chief Secretary, Tan Sri Dr Noorul Ainor Mohd. Nor.

In its efforts to upsurge the national higher education level and at the same time the urge for the university to stand on its own, UMP has taken few initiative in generating income, and this includes MyGift initiative,which will serve as a channel to receive the university’s endowment contributions to facilitate and help the needy. The initiative will include 10 types of endowment or savings, such as students scholarship endowment and endowment for excellence.
UMP Board of Directors, Dato’ Sri Mohd Hilmey Mohd. Taib, Muslim Chambers of Commerce Malaysia Patron, Datuk Syed Omar Al Sagaff, Widad Business Group Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Mohd. Rizal Mohd. Jaafar and Petronas ICT Sdn. Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Izwan Hasli Ibrahim were also present at the event.
