UMP Aidilfitri Donation for the Poor and Needy

In its effort to nurture community campus, UMP has taken an initiative to approach the community in a "Jejak Asnaf Fakir Miskin" Program, a program which has been carried out to help the poor and needy family to live their day especially in the fasting month of Ramadan.

"Jejak Asnaf Fakir Miskin" is a program by Islamic Centre & Human Development (PIMPIN) in collaboration with Registrar and MATAHARI was held on 25 June 2015 in conjuction with this year Ramadan Festival managed to identify and locate 11 poor and needy family who live in Kampung Pandan, Cenderawasih, Kampung Belakang Giant, Gudang rasau, Inderapura, Sri Damai and Jaya Gading.

This program gives the staffs opportunity to help and join the effort by donating basic necessity such as food supply and basic need for hari raya, the least they can do to cheer them up and making sure they also feel the excitement of celebrating Syawal .

The program begin with MATAHARI approaching public, private and corporate sector to donate needed item while Registrar Welfare Committee take charge to apportion the donated item to be given to the poor and needy family.

This effort is also one of the programs carried out in an attempt to approach the local community in which the university role is not only to produce skilled worker in every field but also responsible in contributing knowledge and expertise for the development of local community.
